Silicium Plus is a phytofortifier based on silicon (Si) and potassium (K) that reinforces the mechanical strength of the leaf epidermis and activates the natural defence mechanisms of crops under biotic and abiotic stress conditions, while improving production quality. Silicon (Si) is present in a biologically active form as orthosilicic acid (H₄SiO₄), stabilized with humic substances, carbohydrates, and amino acids, which facilitate its uptake and enhance its effectiveness. Once absorbed, it accumulates in the superficial layers of plant tissues, providing strength and flexibility, and reducing water loss inside the plant. This helps support the plant during water and salt stress by regulating transpiration and mitigating the negative effects of salts and heavy metals. Moreover, its presence in plant tissues improves fruit consistency, enhancing quality and shelf life, also thanks to its ability to promote calcium (Ca) uptake. Additionally, the formation of opaline deposits creates a physical barrier that hinders pathogen penetration and reduces the water available for their development. Potassium (K), also present in the product, promotes cell turgor, increases sugar accumulation in fruits, and further reinforces the mechanical strength of the leaf epidermis.
